Step 1. Select a file of *.nsf format to start working
To select an input file of *.nsf format to start working in Lotus Notes Recovery Toolbox, you should enter its path. For this purpose, you should click the open file button and either select the path of needed file on your disk or simply select it from the list. If you have worked with this file in Lotus Notes Recovery Toolbox before, its path automatically appears after the next start of Lotus Notes Recovery Toolbox. You may select any disk either in the local area network or locally.
If the path of needed *.nsf file is unknown, use the Windows search engine and set the *.nsf extension as the search criteria. As soon as the search is completed, enter the path of needed file in the Lotus Notes Recovery Toolbox application and move to the analysis of selected file.
Step 2. Analyze and recovery of the data in the *.nsf selected format
Make sure the path you have selected is correct and click the Analyze button to start. As soon as you click the Yes button in the Do you wish to start recovery dialog, shown by the Lotus Notes Recovery Toolbox utility, the processing of selected file in *.nsf format is started, it may take a while according to the size of selected file and to the performance of your CPU. Please do not interrupt this process except the cases when the status bar of analysis is not moving for a considerable time period. Step 3. The previewing of recovered information
After the end of recovery, the files can be previewed in the Recovered data window that appears as soon as the analysis is completed. In the free demo version mode you can restore as many *.nsf files as you need without any limitations and preview the results of analysis, but the export of restored information to a new file of *.nsf format is impossible. Please look through the recovered information and make sure all the data you need is successfully recovered. After this you may click the Next button to start the saving of recovered data
Step 4. The selection of path and method for the saving of recovered files
During this stage you should select the path for output data in Lotus Notes Recovery Toolbox that was successfully recovered from corrupted files of *.nsf format during its analysis previously. Please select either Create new database or Export to existing database box, checking the appropriate checkbox. In the Server name(leave blank to indicate a database on the current computer) area you may enter either the server name or leave it blank, if the database is stored on your PC. In the Database name area you may enter the path of selected database or the path of another, newly created base of *.nsf format, it depends on the box that you checked previously. Pat attention to the fact that Lotus Notes application should be installed on your PC to save the recovered information.
Step 5. The saving of recovered data on disk
As soon as you have selected the path for output information, click the Start recovery button and go to the exporting of data into a file of *.nsf format. As soon as the work is completed, you can use this file in Lotus Notes without any limitations. When saving the recovered information it is not allowed to interact with Lotus Notes.
